Take Me Home

take-me-home

The other day, I was surfing around on Netflix trying to find something to add to my queue that didn’t involve the following: a TV series, action, suspense, Strawberry Shortcake. All I wanted was a nice, two-hourish flick that would make me happy. I wanted a friggin’ romantic comedy, people. And not one starring Jennifer Lopez (who ruined the genre, in my opinion…curse you J. Lo!). I ended up picking this independent film called “Take Me Home” and I just loved it. It’s about two strangers who end up driving a cab across the country, and while the plot won’t save the world, it just felt right to me. The writer / director / male lead is played by Sam Jaeger (who I loved in Eli Stone and currently love in Parenthood) and the female lead is his wife, Amber. Most of the movie is just the two of them in a cab, but they play so well against each other, it works. The other star of the film is the good ole USA. From New York through Kansas and on to the deserts of Nevada and the beaches of California, the landscape of the country is just stunning and really makes the film feel bigger than a little indie flick. The soundtrack is also pretty phenomenal. All in all, I highly recommend it.

Ooooh….I go through the exact same thing (except you can swap out Strawberry Shortcake for Angelina Ballerina). I will take your suggestion! 🙂 The other night, we decided to forgo the tv show route and watched Capote, a movie we had both seen…but loved just as much the second time around.

Capote is so good…I may have to dig that one out of retirement. I’m so glad you found me too!!! Was it via So Wonderful, So Marvelous? You were in the marriage series too, right? (P.S. Your http name is tops. Love.)

Yup, it was through So Wonderful, So Marvelous. But no, I just stumbled upon her recently too. I wasn’t in the marriage series. I’ve never collaborated with anyone before…my blog is still in infancy…and I’ve just decided that it might be a good idea to get out there (in the blog world!) and start reading and commenting and learning and such 🙂
