Dad and Lulu
They walked through the garden, spotting eggs and snatching them up. She explained to him how the eggs were hidden, the best way to find them, and that the jumbo ones were dinosaur eggs.
She was dressed in her Easter finest, a dress from the stash left behind by girls who had spent years in dance and theater, along with a necklace of Grammy’s and sandals. He was also dressed to the nines, in the polo he’s worn since I was about ten years old, cargo shorts and sneakers. They were quite a pair.
I wonder if when he looks in her face, he sees me there, rolling my eyes and telling him he’s “just so lame.” I wonder if she can see the years of love on his face.
I think the answer is yes.
