ADHD

Today my boss sent me a response to an email saying only “WHAT IS THIS SHIT!” Not a great sign.

I just took a giant swig of soda thinking it was a regular Pepsi, but it was a Diet Coke. Yuck. Tastes like tar.

What ever happened to Oasis?

This just in: Lucy likes musicals.

People who complain all day should be drug out into the street and shot.

What’s with all of the Charlies Brown specials. I get the Christmas one and the Halloween one, but “He’s a Bully, Charlie Brown?” What the hell does that have to do with the holidays?

Christmas cards make me grumpy. Especially when you’re making one and the only picture printing out to quality is the one of your dog.

Speaking of the dog, thank you to the random uncle who sent a holiday card to myself, Trent and Molly. Not sure if he just felt she needed the boost or if he really got the dog and the baby confused.

Getting Over the Hump / Gotta Love Flickr

I know, it’s Space Camp Thursday, and yes, I do have enough pictures to get us through 2007, so it’ll be back, but today I just don’t feel like searching and scanning and trying to justify my dork-ness.

I’ve been thinking about how crabby I’ve been lately and I think that much of it is driven by the fact that I haven’t had time to get out and take pictures lately. Although my photo skills leave much to be desired, when I have a chance to get out and get creative, it takes my stress level way down and makes me a better person to be around. And I smile more. Which is sometimes a negative, considering my snaggletooth, but I digress.

So this morning I spent some time surfing around Flickr looking for some inspiration. It’s incredible what 10 minutes of photo searching can do for your mood. Here’s my unsolicited advertisement for Flickr; it’s most awesome. I love how people all over the world are taking pictures of their daily lives, and how these pictures can inspire others a world away. So, for your creative pleasure, follow these easy steps and be inspired!

Step 1 – Go to Flickr.com, scroll down and click Explore on the homepage.

Step 2 – On the Explore page, go to the drop down menu that says Choose a Month, and, well, choose a month (I chose October 2007 because I’m very unique and creative).

Step 3 – You’ll end up at a page that looks like this:

Flickr Interesting

Click on a day of the month and go through choosing pictures you find insanely good. Be inspired. Be happy. Sing to your dog. Hug a stranger. Smile at the mailman.

Some that have lifted my mood today…

Bad Llama

My friend Nicole (of the fabulous Nicoleman Photography) sent me a message on my Facebook page a few days ago saying she misses my emailed Lucy updates. She also mentioned that she is also a “bad llama” that hasn’t updated her blog in decades. Lord, do I know how she feels.

The past week, I’ve been so stressed out, I haven’t even been able to think about what to write on this thing, let alone actually have time to do it. I’ve been a bit down, and have let myself get so overwhelmed I haven’t been able to get out of it. I hate being stressed, because as much as I handle a busy schedule and general stress fairly well, when it comes to big time stress, stress that is out of my control, I really don’t handle it at all. I stop eating for days on end. I sleep as much as possible. I start to feel nauseous and I get head/body aches. And I’m an all around negative Nancy.

So, I promise to try and get out of this hole that, with the contribution of many, I’ve dug for myself. I will try to breathe and eat and sleep normal hours. I’ll try to laugh more.

Basically, I’m going to work on being a better llama. Wish me luck.

Gaining Wisdom

What I learned this weekend:

-I am not twenty-one years old.
-I am no longer young or hot enough to get a drink at a crowded college bar.
-I do not and will never fit into a shirt labeled extra-small.
-If you tell the bartender you have a pregnant friend and need a water, like NOW, she’ll look at you very strangely, but oblige.
-Trent and I make a much better adult couple than drunk college couple.
-It’s not polite to celebrate a win loudly when everyone you know was cheering for the other team, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t celebrate at all.
-Grandparents are the best, especially when you attempt to be twenty-one for a night, but then the next day have to go back to being an adult caretaker of a toddler while completely hungover. Grandparents let you sleep in and watch movies all day while they play with the aforementioned child, stopping only to bring her down and show you how much fun they are having. Yeah for Grandparents!

Dear K-State Fans,

Please stop forwarding me the same email over and over. I have received over 10 copies of the email titled “Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Re: KSU vs KU” and I get it! Our coach is fat. See:

Mangino

I understand! Your coach is not fat, ours is. That does not change the fact that we are a crappy football team that has BEAT YOUR TEAM twice in the last three years. Just because you’re ranked and apparently a bit frightened doesn’t mean you need to send me 10 emails a day that say the same thing. That’s called a defense mechanism! You must chill!

Also, just FYI, most KU students/alumni don’t give a crap about football. If they did, they would have gone to K-State. So making fun of our football team doesn’t hurt our feelings. It just annoys us.

Sincerely,
A KU Fan
Rock Chalk!
