Do you ever find yourself in a bit of a rut when it comes to your closet? In the past few years, I really feel like I have found my style when it comes to clothes, but I’m still often overwhelmed by the simple act of getting dressed in the morning. In the last few years, I’ve left my corporate job and now have less of a need for business and cocktail attire. I’m out and about during the day, either shooting images or taking care of my kids, so I want to be comfortable, but I’d like to look stylish and put together as well. And I don’t want to spend a ton of cash, especially on items I’ll never wear.
Enter my friend Caitlin from C4 Styling! Caitlin came over to my very loud home (my kids were in rare form that day!) and we had such a great time while she provided me with her signature Closet Consult. She went through my entire wardrobe, pulled items that weren’t working for me anymore (either they didn’t fit my body OR my lifestyle) to donate to charity, organized everything else, and then put together some awesome new looks from clothes I already own! It was amazing! I felt like I had a whole new slew of outfits, and I didn’t even have to buy anything. She also took photos of the outfits (which you can see in this post) so that I could easily recreate them.
Caitlin also provided me with a wardrobe checklist, showing me what items I could add to my closet that would enhance what I already have. She even put together an awesome Pinterest board (you can see it here!), with links so I can purchase items directly online!
I am so grateful to Caitlin for helping me refine my style and get my closet in order. She’s exactly the medicine that my wardrobe needed! These days, when I get dressed in the morning, I’m not stressed about finding something to wear that fits my needs. And I’m a fan of anything that makes my life easier, especially during the crazy mornings in my house once school starts this week!

Newborn photo sessions are some of my favorites, but they can definitely be a challenge! However, when I headed over to sweet, little Molly’s house, I knew it was going to be an awesome session! I had been fortunate to shoot some images of baby Molly’s older sister and mom and dad a few years ago, and they are a dream family to work with. They exhibit such a kind energy and they have so much fun together. Adding little Molly to the crew only made it more joyful!
Big sister, Maggie, was so excited to show me her new sister! I can tell these two girls are going to be best of friends. Maggie even stayed in the room with us after we were all done taking family images and were just taking photos of Molly, watching what I did and making sure her little sister was doing okay. Molly is a pretty lucky girl to have such a fantastic big sis to watch over her.

You guys, it’s been an interesting summer around here! There have been good and bad developments (more on those later), but one of the most fun has been the addition of a new KITTEN to our family! Lucy has been begging for a kitten for about four years, but her dad was very against the idea. I’m not sure what changed his mind, but out of nowhere he decided to surprise her with a kitten for her birthday earlier this summer! A few weeks later we came home with Pickles!
Pickles was a barn kitten, so when we brought her home we knew she was little, but had no idea how young she actually was. Turns out she was WAY TOO YOUNG and we ended up feeding her goat milk from a dropper until she was big enough to eat on her own. The good news is she’s now about 10-weeks-old and doing awesome! The bad news is she likes to sleep on my head in the middle of the night…
We were a little worried about how Teddy would do with a tiny kitten, but it turns out he’s the best dog ever! He takes so much abuse from Pickles, who likes to play all day long, but he is fairly patient with her and seems to enjoy having her around. After I posted a few photos of them to social media, I had quite a few requests to create them their very own Instagram account, so now you can follow their adventures over at @teddyandpickles. Beware, you may be overwhelmed by the cuteness!
