Sick Day

Untitled

I am spending ANOTHER day at home with this little guy, who isn’t feeling very well. On one hand, I’m glad the kid is in daycare developing super-immunity…on the other hand, his poor body is just done. I took him to the doctor today and they were basically like, “Sorry, dude’s crabby.” Thanks for the tip, Doc, here’s $75!

In case you’re wondering (or are living under a rock) I’m still loving Instagram. I think the combo of two of my favorite digital mediums, photography and social media, has me slightly obsessed. It could be worse, I could be obsessed with cats or coupons or little porcelain dolls. So basically, I’m looking at this as a positive development.

Random editors note: I am working on some big changes around here (and around everywhere, actually) so if you notice some wonkiness on the site, please bear with me, as I’m not actually a web or graphic designer and sometimes I accidentally delete important code and freak out and random things disappear, like my sanity. But when it’s done, it will be magical. Hooray!

Dad and Lulu

They walked through the garden, spotting eggs and snatching them up. She explained to him how the eggs were hidden, the best way to find them, and that the jumbo ones were dinosaur eggs.

She was dressed in her Easter finest, a dress from the stash left behind by girls who had spent years in dance and theater, along with a necklace of Grammy’s and sandals. He was also dressed to the nines, in the polo he’s worn since I was about ten years old, cargo shorts and sneakers. They were quite a pair.

I wonder if when he looks in her face, he sees me there, rolling my eyes and telling him he’s “just so lame.” I wonder if she can see the years of love on his face.

I think the answer is yes.

Baboons and Blanky’s

After Tate’s 15 Month update a few weeks back, a few people sent me messages doubting Mr. Tate could actually believe the word “baboon” meant “book.” Others asked why I didn’t correct him, since this was obviously going to be a limiting factor in his life. So I took this quick video to explain why. After watching I think you’ll understand why I never, ever will correct this baby and if anyone does I will cut them. The cute, it is overwhelming. This video also showcases Tate’s best Linus impression, the thumb in the mouth and the blanky trailing behind. Man, I love this little guy.

(Please excuse the bad video quality. Mr. HD Flip Cam does not do well under low light situations. Also, please excuse the lack of baby pants. We are anti-pants around here.)

Happy Monday!
