First of all, I’m apparently 13 years old, because this video makes me so, so happy (via Lane).
I mean…right?! If you wondering if plans are in the works for a Crazybananas version, THE ANSWER IS YES! And, also, you should probably be a little afraid.
I am headed on a trip this week to celebrate summer and success and all around awesomeness, so I’ve been loading up the iPhone with a playlist to keep me happy as I hop from plane to plane. I think I’ve succeeded. Enjoy the 2012 Summer Mix! Dancing is required (not optional).
Today is Lucy’s last day of Kindergarten and I have to say, I’m heartbroken. I’ve loved this year. This year Lucy has learned to read, learned addition/subtraction/some multiplication, loved P.E./art/music classes, had her first field day (photos below), cheered at her first high school football game, got her first report card, dealt with her first bully and had her first loose tooth. She started school knowing no one, and now roams the halls yelling “Hi!” and “Hola!” to everyone she passes. She fell in love with her first boy band and performed in her first talent show. She has grown and changed so much, but really, she’s the same. She’s still Lulu, my little nutball, my goofy girl, my heart. I’m so proud of her.

One of my favorite places to meet clients or just have an awesome lunch downtown is the KC Cafe (15th and Grand in Kansas City, Missouri). This place is local and not fussy, which is one of my favorite things to find in a restaurant. I have total restaurant phobia, which means I can get very overwhelmed when something is too fancy. I guess that makes me the opposite of a foodie.
The KC Cafe is in a great location, right near the Sprint Center, Crossroads Art District and Power & Light District. It’s well within walking distance to the Sprint Center, but isn’t one of the many, many chain restaurants you will find downtown.
One of my favorite parts of the KC Cafe are the cute placemats you find at every seat, depicting KC landmarks and a matching game to put the names together with the places.
What is my entree of choice? Anyone that knows me should be able to guess this one. The grilled cheese, of course! To be more specific, the jalepeno grilled cheese, made with seared muenster and goat cheese on buttered challah bread with dates and apricots, with pasta salad. Simple, awesome, delicious. Two thumbs up, for sure.
The KC Cafe is opened for lunch only, 11 to 3, Monday thru Friday.
