Another Fight I Never Thought I’d Have
Scene: Woman comes home from work not feeling well. She heads to the bathroom to take care of business, followed by a leery toddler. Toddler asks to brush her teeth, read a book and brush her hair, all whilst the poor woman tries to relieve herself. The following exchange ensues:
Lu: I want. MINE!
[Woman is wearing a skirt and her underwear is around her ankles as she sits on the toilet. Child attempts to grab underwear]
Me: No, Lucinda. Those are Mommy’s.
Lu: NOOOOO!!!! MINE!!!! I WANT ‘TEM!!!! PLEEASSEEEE!!!!
[Followed by many tears and hysterics]
Me: Lucy, those are Mama’s underwear. You cannot take Mama’s underwear. She needs them.
[Child stomps out of room sobbing. Her face is covered in snot and tears. She lays face down on the floor outside of the bathroom, kicking her feet on the ground and screaming. Woman attempts to finish her business.]
End scene.
I am laughing but I am for some reason slightly embarrased at the same time…
That little girl pretty much rocks my world! Maybe she wants to come to NKOTB with us?! ; )
